About The Project

The roofing works at Peter Lea School were carried out directly for Cardiff Council. Like Rhiwbina Primary School the school remained live and in use throughout the duration of work. Our compound was allocated at the rear playground, fully fenced off with Heras fencing to encapsulate the Welfare, Storage, and other materials. Due to the tight single lane access and location of the site there were various logistical issues, all deliveries delivered by articulated lorries had to be offloaded outside the school and moved into our compound through using a forklift. All deliveries to site had to be timed, between the hours of 6:45am to 8:30am and no earlier than 4:30pm in the evening.

The roofing works at Peter lea included a full renewal of all flat roof areas split into phases as shown below:

A programme of work and a phased roof plan is issued to the client prior to commencement of works. The detailed programme and roof plan will highlight the key milestones and works required to specific areas with dates to demonstrate our time on site.

The existing Asphalt was repaired in areas where defective and prepared for the installation of a new BauderFLEX Roofing system incorporating a 120mm insulation board to meet current building regulations, all external gutters and outlets also replaced as a part of the works.

The works also included the full renewal of the existing roof lantern, including all internal works associated, such as the ceiling construction.
